"I believe it was the love of being out of doors as a child that has led me to enjoy the experience of plein air painting. Having grown up in an era before the electronic age took hold and safety factors became an issue, I like many other children regarded the out doors as a place of play and endless creativity. A simple country setting and a few pets provided me with endless entertainment.
It was about the same time when having to stay indoors, I became fond of drawing. Paper, pencils and crayons became my closest companion. Amazingly, decades later, this love of creating has remained with me. Eventually, I found a niche in oil painting. The medium, itself is lush and rich with an endless array of color ranges. It seems amazing to begin with a blank empty canvas and end the experience with a pleasing two-dimensional likeness of whatever you chose to paint. It is the experience of being ‘in the moment' which really is most satisfying. This medium combined with the beauty that nature provides, has become a catalyst of peace and tranquility to me in our ever-changing world."
