Jane Flavell Collins executes realistic paintings of both landscape and still life. A native of New England , she works in all mediums but is mostly involved in oils and acrylics. The artist graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and subsequently received a Master of Arts degree during a year of study in Florence, Italy .
Throughout her career Ms. Collins was an art teacher in Hingham Middle School as well as other public and private schools. She is currently a courtroom artist for WBZ-TV 4.
The artist has exhibited at institutions throughout New England such as the Art complex and the Ellison Center for the Arts in Duxbury, the Copley Society in Boston, the Pemaquid Lighthouse Gallery in Pemaquid, Maine and the Arts and Science Center in Nashua, NH where she was honored with a life membership. She is a member of the Duxbury Art Association, the Cape Cod Art Association, the North River Arts Society, the Scituate Art Association and the South Shore Art Association.
Collins' paintings have been included in the last two books, “100 ways to Paint…”, published by the International Artist Magazine.
The artist is a three time New England Emmy Award winner for her courtroom art work as well as a joint recipient for a National Peabody Award with Chuck Kramer for a TV special completely illustrated with drawings by Collins.
