Wes studied at the National Academy of Design in New York City and continued his studies at the Museum School of Fine Art in Boston.
Wes descends from a long line of artists, dating back to David Claypool Johnson, famous landscape satirist of the Civil War period.

Wes was born in Bronxville , New York , and in 1992 he moved to Boston , MA . He also became a member of The Copley Society in Boston . He lives with his wife and daughter in Hull , MA .
